Measuring 205 mm wide and 335 mm high, the Reference 3A is a real shelf speaker, yet it still offers the full range of capabilities that the other models in the series possess. When used together with a television, for example, it raises its sound capabilities to a completely new level, yet it remains a fully-fledged stereo system with all of the functions mentioned above. Listening to music from your smartphone is just as easy as playing relaxing music from your vinyl collection. A chic lowboard, a TV, a turntable and a Reference 3A set; we can already picture it all in front of us.

The 25 mm tweeter dome is also the component of choice here, while the lowest frequencies are catered for by a 170 mm bass-midrange driver, which delivers a real punch right down to 34 Hz.

The integrated amplifier delivers 2 x 40 watts of continuous power or 2 x 80 watts of peak power, which makes the Reference 3A a fully-fledged hi-fi speaker. The crossover in the 3A intervenes at a frequency of 3,300 Hz. Of course, this system also has an active and a passive speaker, with the latter simply being connected to the active unit via a cable. Like all of the speakers in the series, the 3A is also exquisitely processed, which is manifested in a weight of 6.4 and 5.8 kg per speaker.
